   Picking up at Tail

It is safe to pick a chin up by its tell, but there is a method to it. You need to grab firmly at the base of the tail, and make sure that the chin does not turn or rotate in the air. As long as you do that, everything should be fine. Though this is a safe practice, if you held a chin for extended periods of time from the tail you could easily damage the tail.
