Anytime you get a new chinchilla you should always quarantine for atleast 30 days to make sure the new chinchilla does not have any diseases that could be transferred to the entire herd. For a true quarantine, you will need to change clothes completely and wash and exposed skin, otherwise, the quarantine will be spoiled.
