Diarrhea is a common affliction that chin owners deal with. Sometimes its an indicator of illness, or some environmental stressor and even improper diet. Never give to many treats as it could cause either constipation, or diarrhea.

If your chinchilla only has soft stool, provide extra hay, less pellets and plenty of water. If this does not help, or the diarrhea worsens, contact your vet immediately as its often a sign of internal parasites.
