   Cleaning Up

Cleaning your chinchillas cage is very easy as long as you keep up with it. I recommend purchasing at least a 3 gallon shop vac to help expediate the cleaning process. Make sure that you clean using chin safe products only, such as white vinegar and water, or hydrogen peroxide. If you use any other cleaner its important to rinse and dry the cage before letting your chins back inside. Recently I heard of a method of spraying hyrdrogen peroxide over the entire cage, then spraying white vinegar on top of that, letting it bubble and then wiping it down.

Daily:

- shop vac/sweep off the shelves
- clean any urine off of shelves
- spot clean the bedding by scooping any soiled bedding out

Weekly:

Disinfect the entire cage, and do a complete change of bedding. Wash water bottles too.
