This is when the nipple becomes inflamed and the chin mom is unable to nurse because of it. It usually only affects one side or teat, and can easily be cured with antibiotics from your vet.

Signs of this include:
•  enlarged, red nipples
•  mom running from kits
•  mom crying/screaming when kits attempt to nurse
•  babies are not gaining weight
